RWFC jerseys travel to Malawi

Through a grapevine of caring people our club was able to donate old RWFC strips to some very keen soccer players in the rural village of Nkhotakota in Malawi, Africa!

One set of jerseys and shorts went to an Under 15’s Team called “KBC United” (Kids Bible Club). The boys in this team have been playing in the local league since last season. This season they are coming 4th on the table out of about 10-12 teams.

More RWFC jerseys travel to Malawi

Just to let you know that we have been able to distribute some more jerseys to two teams up in the Lakeshore area of Malawi, which is about 7hrs away from where we live. These friends of ours up there run a Bible club for youth there. One set was given to a boys football team, and another set was given to a girls netball team! They are very grateful to Revesby Workers Football Club for the jerseys!

Finals fun this weekend

Last weekend our Over 35/1 team scored seconds before the end of extra time, avoiding a penalty shootout and claiming victory!  Then on Sunday our 14 Ladies A team won their Grand Final 6-0!  Toss in the 14/2B team from the week before and that’s 3 Grand Final teams so far!

Today’s your last chance to catch Grand Final action this season.  We have two teams on the park as follows:

A typical season involves the following events

  1. Committee formed for the coming season (late in previous year)
  2. Registration period (Jan to April)
  3. Team formation. (March)
  4. Gradings (usually where there are multiple teams in a division). (March)
  5. Training dates determined. (March)
  6. Trial games determined. (Feb / March)
  7. Trial games played (March)
  8. Season start (April)
  9. Coaches and Manager’s meetings (monthly)
  10. Committee meetings (monthly / ad-hoc)
  11. Trivia night, Gala days and other events (mid-season)
  12. Season end (August)
  13. Junior Presentation Day (October)

Pre-season events

Inductions for Under 6s and Under 7s – coaches and managers

Monday 5th March.
From 6:30pm to 7:30pm at our Marco home ground.
Managers and Coaches will be notified via email with full details.

Non-Competitive Trial Games

Beginning 10th March and with a sausage sizzle to start off too.
Location: Milperra Reserve – corner of Ashford and Bullecourt Avenues, Milperra.

Trial/Preseason Practice Games – registration and insurance

All managers and coaches have been notified about trial games.

The onus is on all players to register and pay prior to playing and hence be covered by the insurance bundled into the registration. If you fail to register, you can still play, but you won’t be covered by the insurance.
